Elsa and Bill live on the family farm in Milner, Ga near Griffin.  It was first established in 1955 when Elsa’s father, Dr. O.E. Sell, purchased the initial acerage.  Over the years he increased the farm size, raised stocker cattle and later had a cow/calf operation.  He planted muscadine vineyards, fruit and nut trees, blueberries and had a sizeable garden.  We came to the farm in 2000 and have steadily worked on infrastructure and herd improvements; we enjoy the vineyards and wine, wildlife, lake, and country life along with our dogs. This web site offers a glimpse of the farm and explains raising of home grown cattle for beef. Farming is at the mercy of mother nature and 2011 is the 7th year of significant summer drought for Georgia.  Thus, we’ve reduced herd size and in 2007 began low pressure irrigation for about half the pastures in order to maintain enough pasture for the cow herd during summertime.
